I went off to college to be a weatherman. Yah, like Willard Scott and Al Roker. I love weather for it's amazing powers, and was driven by the puzzle that is forecasting. While too many semesters of collegiate calculus ended my meteorology dream, I learned incredibly valuable skills that translate well to business. I found my true passion in assessing business climates, understanding customer and channel dynamics, and crafting thunderous communications that deliver the downpours businesses need to grow. My company's philosophy is rooted in an outside-in approach to solving sales and marketing challenges. We know the best answers are found among buyers, and passionately advocate for them every day while executing our craft. We’ve worked in more than 20 industries with companies large ($1B+) and small ($1-$5M). We’re as equally adept at working in situations with data as without. And we know how to stretch our clients' dollars to deliver maximum benefit, no matter the size of budget. While I started as a sole proprietor, we’re now an on-demand collection of skilled strategists, designers, writers and sales trainers who love helping leaders accelerate sales. Rainmaker Strategies was founded by Jeff Robertson, an accomplished rainmaker who’s helped deliver hundreds of millions in revenue growth.
Classically trained by former Procter & Gamble brand marketers after earning his MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, Jeff developed his holistic go-to-market approach leading marketing and sales teams for the last 25 years. His clients rave about his unique combination of strategic marketing acumen and boots-on-the-ground understanding of consultative selling. And his infectious energy - captured perfectly in this outtake photo - which helps rally teams to greater success. Before re-establishing his agency in 2022, Jeff most recently served as Vice President of Marketing at TravelNet Solutions. He helped the hospitality SaaS company more than double sales revenue and secure the largest majority investment in industry history. Prior to TravelNet, Jeff led NAVIS's marketing team and west coast sales team, helping the hospitality CRM tech company nearly triple revenues ($12M to $35M). He was also Yahoo!’s first dedicated B2B brand marketing hire, helping the company grow ad sales from $500M to more than $1.1B in his first 18 months. He went on to launch Yahoo!'s B2B enterprise and broadcast services division, and build sponsorship programs for the world's most trafficked website in 2006, FIFAworldcup.com. |
